Ownership and management of BCL

BCL started trading in 2004 as BESO Consulting Limited a wholly owned subsidiary of the charity British Executive Service Overseas (BESO) under the Directorship of Graham Smith and Christopher Singer with profits after costs to be donated to BESO. In 2005 BESO merged with VSO and BCL was sold to Graham Smith and Christopher Singer who each have 50% of the issued share capital and the name was changed to British Consultancy Limited. In 2006 Michael de Minckwitz joined as a non Executive Director.


Michael de Minckwitz

Michael de Minckwitz. Non Executive Director BCL. Chief Executive Gerrard Stuart Group, financial services. Directorships in companies in leisure industry, catering and third party administration. Consultant to companies in the distribution market, legal services, IT services and the leisure industry. Short service commission in Army including completion of Long Finance Course which covered the Cost and Management Accountancy syllabus. 5 years in marketing before joining national accountancy firm specialising in corporate financial planning in the SME market. Member of the Institute of Directors, Currently studying for 'Chartered Director' status.

Trustee of a Charitable Trust (set up in 1967), to fund the examination years of pupils whose parents find themselves in distress during this period (through either the death of a partner, ill health or other suitable reason). Financial Adviser to numerous family Trusts.

 


Christopher Singer

Christopher Singer. Director and 50% owner of BCL. Enterprise background. 30 years creating new products, services and companies in computers and electronics. VP Marketing ICL USA, Director Aregon International developing own and exporting other UK software, Managing Director Granada Microcomputer Services, founder of Singer Electronics pioneering digital voice recording. SME Consultant mainly Eastern Europe. Co-authored Training for Financial Awareness, Gower 2001, a manual for those teaching finance to non financial managers.

Volunteer for BESO since 1994 with circa 20 assignments, in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia. Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia some as BESO's representative on Seminar Committee organising circa 6 TACIS training sessions a year for 3 years. 2 year project in Chernihiv, Ukraine developing enterprises with Consultants and Volunteers.

 


Graham Smith

Graham Smith MBE. Director and 50% owner of BCL. Full career soldier to Colonel. Service included action in Oman and Falklands, set-up and ran Staff College for Kenyan Armed Forces, Commanded an Air Defence Regiment in BAOR, Principal Staff Officer to Quartermaster General.

Operated in Kenya for 8 years: member of development team negotiating with the Parastatal Reform Committee Tanzania on hotel development (World Bank funded), Business Development Manager for Energy From Waste Consultants, Lincolnshire, for Africa. Contracted to review and re-organise the structure and re-equipment of an agricultural and construction group of companies in Kenya.

2 years Business Development Manager for BESO which led to the creation of BCL.
